President Prabowo Subianto, in an event held in Bentangan Village, Klaten, emphasized the importance of the 80,081 Merah Putih Village Cooperatives in improving the welfare of the people. He urged all stakeholders to closely monitor these cooperatives to prevent any form of exploitation. Referring to past mistakes during the New Order era, President Prabowo warned against any recurrence of corrupt practices, stating that the new cooperative system is built on technology and transparency to allow real-time monitoring and auditing of financial flows. He stressed that the cooperatives belong to the people, with village heads playing a crucial role in overseeing the operations to ensure they benefit the community. Using a traditional metaphor, he highlighted the power of unity in strengthening the economy through cooperation. President Prabowo expressed confidence in the potential of these cooperatives to rejuvenate Indonesia’s rural economy and decentralize the distribution of resources. This initiative aims to redirect funds from urban areas to the provinces and villages, promoting economic growth at the local level.
