Ester Nenggokaka, is a hardworking mother from Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara, who has always embraced a simple way of life. Despite facing various challenges, she remains committed to providing the best for her two children. By selling vegetables in the morning and taking care of her family, Ester personifies resilience and perseverance.
One of Ester’s children, Lorensius Aganta, who is two years old, was underweight, weighing only 7 kilograms before benefiting from the Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis, MBG) program. Ester expressed her gratitude for this initiative, emphasizing the positive impact it had on her son’s health.
Thanks to the regular distribution of MBG meals, Ester has observed a slight but meaningful improvement in her son’s weight. She eagerly awaits the next health check at the local community clinic to track his progress. Every morning, Ester receives a variety of nutritious food items such as eggs, fish, meat, tofu, tempeh, and vegetables for her children, ensuring they maintain a balanced diet.
While appreciating the support of the MBG program, Ester also looks forward to the future with hope. She envisions a better tomorrow and hopes for additional assistance from President Prabowo to enhance their living conditions. Despite living in challenging circumstances with no access to electricity or land ownership, Ester finds comfort in the meals that nourish her child and foster a sense of optimism for the days ahead.
