The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is taking steps to promote local employment by recruiting workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals in extreme and general poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to the National Nutrition Agency, mentioned that at least 30% of the personnel in each SPPG will be selected from underprivileged households to support job absorption for families in the lowest economic deciles. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units established in partnership with local economic institutions, involving 93,572 local community volunteers. The Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program has benefited 7,444,238 individuals nationwide, with beneficiaries ranging from early childhood education to breastfeeding mothers and toddlers. To further expand the program, BGN plans to launch an additional 2,401 SPPG units within the next 10 days, aiming to serve approximately 15 million beneficiaries nationwide.
