President Prabowo Subianto has set a bold target to expand the Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) to reach 82.9 million children nationwide by the end of 2025. Speaking at the 27th anniversary of the National Awakening Party (PKB) in Jakarta, he emphasized the importance and urgency of this initiative. Prabowo recounted a touching experience during his visit to Central Java, where he witnessed the overwhelming demand for the program from schoolchildren and the community. This encounter prompted him to instruct his team to accelerate the program implementation, aiming to reach 20 million children by mid-August.

The President expressed his determination to reach 82.9 million children by December 2025, highlighting that Indonesia’s efforts are gaining global attention and recognition. He mentioned that other countries are closely monitoring the program, with some even considering sending teams to learn from Indonesia’s approach. Despite the ambitious goal, Prabowo emphasized the need for tangible results to validate the optimism.

The Free Nutritious Meal Program is a key component of Prabowo’s strategy to address child hunger, malnutrition, and educational disparities. He envisions providing every child with the nourishment necessary to thrive and succeed, regardless of their background. Prabowo’s commitment to this cause has drawn significant interest both domestically and internationally, positioning Indonesia as a leader in addressing childhood nutritional needs.

Prabowo urged accountability and transparency in achieving the program’s objectives, inviting scrutiny and evaluation of the results. As Indonesia strives to make a significant impact on child welfare and development, the Free Nutritious Meal Program serves as a cornerstone of the nation’s efforts to foster a healthier and more prosperous future for its youth.
