In a video conference discussing the inauguration of renewable energy development and the expansion of oil production in East Java, Prabowo underlined Indonesia’s capacity to produce energy efficiently while reducing costly logistics chains. He stressed the importance of energy independence in Indonesia’s vision for national sovereignty, outlining the government’s plan to launch 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants, to offer clean, reliable, and efficient energy throughout the archipelago. Prabowo praised the collaborative efforts of various ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy companies like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil in supporting Indonesia’s energy transition. While recognizing the country’s significant oil and gas reserves, he highlighted the critical role of renewable energy, particularly solar power, in ensuring energy self-sufficiency for communities nationwide.
