Cirebon – The leader of Pondok Pesantren Buntet, Mertapada Kulon Village, Astanajapura District, Cirebon Regency, West Java, KH Adib Rofiuddin Izza expressed his support for candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
This support was conveyed directly by KH Adib at the headquarters of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) in Jakarta on Wednesday, 3 January 2023.
“Our hope is clear, I have conveyed to Mr. Prabowo at that time, Mr. Prabowo pays great attention to Islamic boarding schools and to the community and the people,” said KH Adib.
KH Adib is convinced that Prabowo is not a power-hungry figure, because the former commander of Kopassus wants to serve the nation.
“I am sure he does not expect any position, does not expect anything, just one thing, to serve the nation and the state,” said KH Adib.
Furthermore, the charismatic cleric denied what had been reported earlier, where the name of the leader of the Buntet Islamic boarding school was said to support the Ganjar-Mahfud pair.
KH Adib emphasized that he has supported Prabowo since the beginning, because he and the Indonesian Minister of Defense have an emotional bond.
“That’s the dynamics of politics, but maybe the ladies and gentlemen don’t know my emotional relationship with Mr. Prabowo,” said KH Adib.
In line with this, the Advisory Board of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team, M Iriawan, expressed his gratitude for the support.
“Of course I am grateful to him, my teacher, my cleric, from Pondok Pesantren Buntet, I have interacted quite long in Buntet when I was there. Of course, because this is an extraordinary, old, charismatic Islamic boarding school, and it has quite a lot of students,” said the man known as Iwan Bule at the same location.
Iwan Bule is confident that this support will strengthen the voice of Prabowo-Gibran, especially in the West Java region, so that they can win decisively.
“God willing, West Java will bring a fairly decisive victory in the future, we pray. What is clear is that I am thankful to the leader of Pondok Pesantren Buntet for his support for our pair Prabowo-Gibran who, God willing, will bring Indonesia to a better future, prosperous and peaceful, becoming a developed country,” he said.
